Mentorship

In addition to years working as a TA in GW’s writing program, I’ve taught and mentored students through test prep, college admissions, subject tutoring, research, writing and performance for more than 15 years. I am now also serving as the interim Executive Director of Y-Apply, a nonprofit devoted to college access for public school students of color, for which I’ve delivered college workshops across the country.

I take an exacting approach to mentorship, coupled with empathy and a sense of humor. I don’t whittle students down to better fit the norm, and I help students “find their forte” and play to their strengths. I’m proud my students have succeeded in their academic and professional lives, so please be in touch to inquire about mentorship, coaching and workshop presentations.
